It was nearing midnight, and what a beautiful night it was. Full Moon, two of them, actually, and a dark satin blue sky full of stars. She had been wandering aimlessly since sunset when she awoke, finding that she had fallen asleep at the crossroads trying to decide which direction to take. It didn't take long before Mouse was strolling alongside the picket fence that encolsed the Tea Time Clearing, with asmile she looked over the fence to see - no one. With a bit of a frown, she hopped the fence.
Well, that was certainly dissapointing.
Running a hand through her hair, she then scratched behind her ear, making her way over to Leah's favorite chair. It was strange to see it without the man inhabiting it.
She glanced about, a bit of a mischeivous grin overtaking her pretty features. The coast was clear. Then, tip toeing over to the chair, she sat in it slowly, resting her arms on the arms of the chair. Hmm, no wonder Leah liked the damn thing. It was hella comfortable.

Though it was midnight and everything about was quiet and peaceful save some chirping of crickets and possibly other inhabitants of Wonderland sneaking about. A tall frame of a man was slightly outlined by the moon light as he stood firmly at the back of the Tea Time Clearing. Not a muscle budged as he stood there looking over the stars. It was not often the he came out during the night to survey such a common sight. He did love his sleep and then waking up as early as possible to start tea. But he had found himself restless tonight. His mind plagued with dreams of his former life and growing old. Nightmares. He lowered his chin from the sky closing his mismatching eyes for the time. The black hat on his head slipping down his forehead as every hat he had so often did. The overcoat he was wearing was just as black and kept closed around him to keep the nights chill off of himself. His dark black slacks were almost too big for himas the bottoms were rolled up so they would not drag on the ground and become dirty. One might wonder what he was doing dressed for the day to come so early. Or late. But he figured he would not be getting much sleep tonight. Finally giving up on standing, he decided that his best spot to pass the time by was the table surrounded by his mixed chairs. And of course, his chair would be there. His wonderful soft pick cushioned chair. This made a small smile appear on his features, but it quickly faded as his mind interrogated his dreams. Thankfully this was cut short when he noticed someone sitting in his chair. If it had been someone else he might have torn their head off because of the sour mood he was in, but it was none other than Mouse. His steps were quiet as he made his way behind the chair and then laid his arms over the top of it. He rested his chin on his arms and looked down at the tiny female curiously. A smile slipped onto his lips as he did so. "And I wonder who this could be sitting in my chair," he said in a teasing voice.

Mouse nearly jumped out of the chair out of fright and shock. She hadn't expected him to be awake or to be behind her at that. Bringing a dainty hand up to her chest, she looked up at him and slid off of the chair. Her heart was beating so fast that she was sure he could hear it. "Leah... You scared me..."
With a bit of a guilty glance about, she knelt on the chair so that she would be almost eye to eye with him, almost. She reached up and kissed him on the cheek, as per usual. "Can't sleep?"

The Hatter rose his brows with a bit of delight when he saw Mouse jump after he had snuck up behind her. The small smile on his face growing into a much larger one. His mismatching eyes filled with satisfaction of having some company during the dark lonely night. It would not have been any fun at all if Mouse had not happened to be sitting in his chair. If she hadn't, the Hatter would have ended up sitting in his chair like a corpse until the sun would finally peek over the horizon and grace the land with its golden rays. That would have been extremely boring and Leah was not one who was fond of the word 'boring'. He simply stayed still as Mouse gave her usual greeting with a kiss on his cheek and he closed his eyes only for a moment to try and ease his nerves from his dreams. After his eyelids lifted again he looked straight at the Mouse when he heard her ask her question. He let the smile disappear as he gave her a rather grumpy look with a nod. Then a stuck his lower lip out in an obvious pout. "How did you guess," he grumbled sarcastically. "I would ask what you are doing out and about, but this kind of night time wondering is nothing new to you." With that said, the Hatter lifted his head from the chair and began to walk around it and sat down carefully on the arm. His eyes looking up at the sky in deep thought. This was rare for him to ever do. Not often did he waste his time doing this when he and Mouse could be sharing a cup of tea. He nodded to himself and got up again making his way toward the table. His long arms reached out and took a kettle that just happened to have some tea in it. Then he scrounged up to mismatching cups of the colors pink and lavender. He poured some tea into the lavender cup and slid it over toward Mouse. Before he poured his own, he set the kettle down and looked at Mouse as he lowered the pink cup. A weak half smile appearing on his features. "Bad luck to pour your own, remember?"
